About the Author (from the book - 1982)
Helen "Jane" (Errickson) Hutchinson was born 1 Dec 1925 in Lexington, Kentucky, the daughter of George Thomas Errickson of Barnegat, Ocean County, N.J., and his wife Jennie Ruth (Potter) Errickson of Leeds, Greene County, N.Y.
A graduate of University High School in Lexington, she graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1947 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Anatomy and Physiolgy. That same year, she was married to Irving "Norton" (9) Hutchinson, Jr. They are the parents of five children and currently have three grandchildren.

"In today's society, it is now illegal for first cousins to marry one another, because of our understanding of the laws of heredity. We tend to forget that the Mendelian theories of heredity date back only to the 1800's. Thus, in 1724, when Elijah married his first cousin, Mary Hutchinson, no one considered their marriage as any different from any other marriage.
